The Makalu 2010 video technology solution

VISLINK is the technical authority in all aspects of planning for the successful delivery of video footage off the mountain. We are lending the Makalu 2010 team two wireless camera transmitters that will operate with Sony Go-Pro and Bullet cameras that will be taken to the summit. We are also lending the antennas and receivers that make up the complete RF system for the video link between the ascent team and base camp.

The VISLINK equipment will allow the team to relay live footage back to the base camp from helmet cameras. When the video has been received at the base camp, the base camp team will edit the footage and send back video diaries to the UK via satellite using the Livewire M-Link media streaming service to enable video delivery from the Himalayas to the MOD Digital News Imagery server.

VISLINK equipment enables wireless, video & data communications for law enforcement and public safety applications. At the core of every mission critical situation, is the need for the rapid deployment of reliable communications equipment and VISLINK understand this need. We supply systems for military, public safety and law enforcement customers that support interagency sharing of real time video surveillance on the ground, in the water and in the air.
VISLINK equipment is currently in operation supporting British Armed Forces in theatre.
