SCM5000 – Advanced Digital Multiplex & Modem  The SCM5000 is an ultra flexible, robust and highly configurable high speed digital IF modem and multiplexer designed to complement long, medium, and short haul point-to-point microwave systems in STL or Intercity relay service for single hop, multi-hop, or statewide applications.
The SCM5000 is a high speed digital modem that offers the latest advances in error correction consistent with improved robustness and highly effective countermeasures to minimize the effects of dispersive fading. The occupied bandwidth of the SCM5000 can be adjusted to fit any microwave channel from 5 MHz to 40 MHz wide in support of an aggregate data rates up to 170 Mbps. The new SCM5000 demodulator includes an improved adaptive equalizer that effectively combats the effects of dispersive multipath fading that can occur on longer paths. For the ultimate in multipath protection, we have included a packet based space diversity switching option that constantly compares the packets received at each antenna, and allows only the error free packets to pass through to downstream equipment.
