ASG2100 – Studio IP Gateway & Router  The ASG2100 Advanced Studio Gateway is designed to enable Filebased Workflow from the field, by providing robust mobile IP routing and wide area connectivity between the studio and remote ENG / Outside Broadcast resources.
ASG2100 Advanced Studio GatewayThe ASG2100 extends the Studio Network and Filebased Workflow to the OB systems in the Field, allowing the Journalist to work as if they were in the Studio, providing access to the assignment desk, studio based editorial staff and proxy archive footage. The network connection to OB resources provides the ability to remotely control and monitor these systems, allowing engineers in the studio to configure or diagnose any issues occurring in the field from the studio, removing the reliance on relaying instructions to an operator at the scene, over a phone. The ASG2100 is a router to enable the Studio Network to communicate with AMG2100 units in the field. The AMG2100 accesses the Studio Network through the ASG2100 using the available infrastructure, such as 3G/4G/WiMax, Microwave and Satellite communications. The ASG2100 interfaces through the Firewall to the Studio Network so that the Studio Network remains protected. Typically the ASG2100 would be provide an always-on connection through the internet to cellular providers, with a high bandwidth return connection to the studio provided by a Microwave Receiver such as the Lynx L2174 receiver or a Satellite receiver such as an IRD5100.
